  Do you feel sorry for the family members who shun you?

  as each instance of shunning happens to me, it seems even more ridiculous than the last.. this weekend i took our kids to the park - wife opted out, understandably - and we let our daughter call my parents to inform them we'd be there.

  this was my first time in the presence of my parents since our df announcement two weeks ago.. my mom and dad were 10-20 feet away much of the time and yet they never said a greeting or.. well anything.

  at one point my daughter, who is aware of the shunning, mistakenly thought my mom called my name and shouted excitedly, "mawmaw, were you talking to daddy??

  Although I have empathy for my family who shun me, I no longer excuse them. Enough time has passed for them to have thought through what they are doing. They have decided to harden their hearts sufficiently to keep up the embargo.

  Given the nonsense they have filled their heads with and their rudeness, not seeing each other is now my choice too. Life is too short spend living in hope for something that will never come - isn't that the mistake JWs make?

  SweetBabyCheezits They should treat you with respect when they see in front of your children or not at all. Perhaps their rudeness could result in you deciding that they are setting a bad example and as such are bad association for your children.

  If they thought that rarely seeing their grandchildren could be the price they end up paying, they may realize that they don't have the control over family matters that they assume is all theirs.

  Hey fellas, as you got older, into your early 30s, did you start finding women between their late 30s and late 40s attractive?

  somedays my dad would look at what i still call an older woman, and he'd call her attractive.

  i'd look at him like dude your nuts.

  i'm thinking just cuz your older doesn't mean its wrong to find younger women attractive.

  because it's a self fullfilling prophecy!.

  if you keep women couped up and force them to have only limited contact with the outside world they are going to appear sheltered and unlearned.

  therefore when these oppressed women do things that are unlearned or immature all the men go "well they are the weaker vessel.".

  is there anyone today, who can make a legitimate claim to being followers of the truth?

  most of the main-line religions of this world all vie for special appointments, and will tell us that they are jehovah's representative organization.

  Ah! To win the approval of the JWs, thanksgiving must be directed at theirgod, not just any old god. Even then it will be impossible to please their god without guidance from Zions Watchtower.

  Jehovah is a jealous god and frowns upon attempts to reach him without going through the proper Chanel of communication, which we all know is the Watchtower society.

  Nice work Randy.

  I have read the whole manual and gain the impression that there is emphasis on elders being legally correct in the actions they take against disgruntled members.

  The focus is on dealing with the number of people leaving the organisation and controlling the information they take with them and publicise. The term 'enemies from with in' come to mind. The Watchtower society is simply reaping what it has sown.

  A difference between 2009 Annual Report and 2010 Annual Report

  in 2009 annual meeting report, the report was given of these stats:.

  u.s. 7/09 new peak in pubs and again in 8/09 land mark of 1,154,275 pubs.

  making a 4% increase over last year.

  Since a huge proportion of the hours reported are made-up anyway...

  So true. how much time is reportedly spent standing at doors of vacant houses, is of no real interest.

  Why don't they do what all other companies do and publish their annual accounts? This would show the true growth or shrinkage of their publishing empire.

  They could even raise funds by selling shares in the company to worldly people. After all, what's the point of owning 100% of a company when the end of this wicked financial system is 'just around the corner.'

  May as well realize some serious capital to be used funding missionaries to warn people that there are only weeks left to climb on board the modern day ark. They could then claim another prophecy has been fulfilled about Jehovah speeding things up.

  Oh happy days!

  Thinking about going to HELL

  i got to thinking about death the other day, now that holloween is here.

  this thought is only in reference to dying before armeggedon.. they idea of heaven and hell, in the non-jw christian world is: if your good you go to heaven.

  if your bad you go to hell.

  Toilet quandries: The seat: Up/Down and Toilet paper direction

  those who have lived with the opposite sex know of the frustration of being lectured about some triviality.. the toilet seat/paper controversy is among the most inflammatory.. men who forget to put the toilet seat back down inspire anger, rage, resentment and the stern lecture.. the easiest solution is to train the man to always sit down when he goes.. .

  others argue over the direction of the toilet paper: forward overlap or backward underlap.. .

  how do you deal with these issues and how violent do you become?.

  I don't care which way round the Watchtowers and Awakes are - as long as they balance and are within reach when I need them.

  TIP OFF THE DAY: Being of such inferior paper quality, they are better used damp!
